Goodbye 2010
Well the end of the year is here and I'm not too sad to see it leave! We have had a lot of ups and downs but we are together so I guess we can not complain. Tommy has been home for over 2 1/2 years, the longest since 2003 so I feel blessed. And he should not deploy again until the end of the new year.
It seems the year started off going in the right direction. Then I had surgery in March and ended up going in and out of the hospital for a few weeks, so that messed up the house for a bit. Still dealing with the results of the surgery but things are getting better, at least I'm looking at it that way. But a new year will bring more surgery and things should start getting better all the way.
Jonathan had two appointments which went well today. So now we have a four day weekend and we are going to do nothing. It snowed all afternoon and it is very cold and nasty out. I forgot how crazy these people drive, they must be from VA., that's for my family. :} I have surgery on Monday and Tommy leaves on Thursday for the month. Hannah's surgery is on the 13Th we are a bit sad daddy wont be here, but mommy will make sure she gets a special gift for being so strong. She has really grown up this year, makes me sad because I still want her needing me to help her with everything. It seems she changed over night, I knew it would happen but still hard to take. I'm blessed with her because I know she has a good head on her and will make something out of her life.
Jonathan's next MRI is the 18TH, they said if anything has changed they will keep him and we will go from there. Very stressful month. The hardest is not having Tom here to help. If the do surgery on Jonathan we can get Tom home but it will take a few days.I'm sure people are wondering if they can bring him home if Jonathan has surgery why he can't stay with Hannah having surgery but it's a major surgery and a lot will happen so it makes a difference. I really wish he could stay but he belongs to the Army before us. (well that's the way they look at it) I am keeping hope that everything is the same and we can relax a little. I'm not sure if we will ever be relaxed but I think everyone can understand what I mean.
January will be super busy for us but It's a start of the new year so I'm just going to go with it and put it in good hands, God's. I know he will watch over us. And I have some amazing family and friend who have really been here for us, even if they are far away they are here at all times.
I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years, stay safe and we hope get to see more of you this year. We will post again soon.

Tuesday
Today seems to be dragging on and on. Mommy is tired but when I try to sleep I just lay there. I had my pre-op today, everything is ready for Monday. Kinda funny, the prep and after the surgery takes long the the surgery it self! I have to be there at 8:15 but surgery is at 9:45, the said 30 min. tops. Should be home by noon. I'm glad Tommy doesn't leave until the 7TH at least he'll be he for one of these. I'm sure he feels bad about not being here for Hannah but hope he'll be able to call that day. She may not want to talk but just to hear daddy say I love you will help. The Neuro doctor called today they put Bubby on another pill to help with the headaches. Not sure what is causing them but hope it helps. I hate to see my baby cry. If he is like me I don't handle pain very well. We will find out Hannah's time on the 10th for the 13TH. She is still up set with momma for this. Daddy gets to leave and be the hero while I have to play bad guy, again! The next few months are going to be hard and I really would love for everyone to pray for Tom, Me, Bubby and Hannah! We need many prayers. They will look at the tumor on the 18TH and if they feel they need to keep him they will do it then. Wish Tom would be here because I'm holding on by finger tips right now. They put him on a new medicine today so I hope it works well. His ABA starts next week, things are crazy right now but I think after we get over this hump things will be better. I just wish the Genetic doctor would let me know his plans........Hope you all have a blessed night. And please hug you children daily and never forget to tell them you love them no matter how old they are.

Christmas is over.............
Well I am just a little happy the rush of Christmas is over with. It has been so busy it's just nice to not worry about running around getting presents while going all over for appointments. We went to Tom's sister's today and had dinner. We enjoyed it a lot. But we had the yucky Bronco game on so that was no fun ( just kidding ) The Redskins won as well today....Go Skins! My mean mean family in the south went and did not ask me but that's ok, I will just not ask them to join me for a Bronco game, oh wait they don't like them anyways. Tomorrow we are taking the Christmas stuff down and getting some things over to Goodwill. I have my pre-op Tuesday and my surgery is next week on the 3RD. I will be glad when it's over with. Then it's Hannah's turn then onto Bubby! Very busy month ahead of us. Tommy will be gone but we will be fine. Tom's sister is coming for Hannah's surgery to watch Bubby, so glad she lives closer now. And if I need her at the hospital in Denver for Bubby I'm sure she will be there. It's not having daddy there but having someone with me will help more then I can say. Well I'm going to go, hope all had a great Christmas and weekend.

Update on the Spies family
We had Tommy's Battalion Christmas party and Santa was there and we had so much fun. Tommy served the guys diner and he got to eat with us as well. We enjoyed it very much. The kids really enjoyed it. This Christmas has been really great. I think the kids got everything they wanted and so did I, just seeing their faces were the best gift I could had every ask for. We stayed in our PJ's all day long, it was wonderful. The kids are off until the 4TH so they are very happy about it. This year we have moved from public school to home schooling and things seem to be going well for them. I know a lot of people think I'm crazy for doing it but Jonathan has a lot of things going on and he would had been missing so much school so with home school you do it the hours you need to as long as the lessons are turned in by midnight. Jonathan goes to appointments three to four times a week, so it's better to home school.
I'm sure everyone knows Jonathan has Aspergers and that in it's self is hard to deal with at times. But I would never trade him for anything in the world. He has started having seizures a few months ago and they have labeled him with Epilepsy. They did an MRI and he has a small tumor on his pituitary, they are keeping an eye on it and will repeat the MRI in January to see if it's grown any. They sent him to a Genetic doctor to see what was going because they found genetic disorder called Bilateral Periventricular Nodular Heteratopis.
They are trying to make a plan on what we will do next. He has a great group of about six doctor's who work very well together. He has been seeing an Endocrinologist and he is growing very well. 75% in weight and 11% on height. When we started a year ago he was under the charts for height and 10 % for weight. So he has come a long way. We would like for him to be closer in % but are happy things are going well. He does his own shot's six days a week, and does an amazing job at it. There is so much going on with him that I never stop. The home schooling we use has really worked with us because if he has a seizure he will sleep three hours after one and then kinda out of it most of the day. We have been praying hard for months and moving to Colorado Springs has really been good for us because the care we have gotten for Jonathan and Hannah has been amazing.
Hannah will be having surgery the 13TH, she is getting her tonsils taking out. She is scared but I told her she will get lots of treats for it. Tommy will be in CA. for NTC training. They were there in July but I guess if they will be deployed again next year you never have to much training. I will do my best to keep everyone updated on things that are going on with our family as they happen. We stay busy so I will always have something to post. Please keep our family in your prayers. We need all we can get. Hope everyone had a great year and we are looking forward to a better New Year.
